IMPROVE YOUR BLOG POSTS
Now, onto the tips!
TIP#1: ADD IMAGES
I can’t stress this enough. You want to invite the reader to graze through your post, digesting all the information.
Pictures definitely help. If your readers are like me, they are a skimmer. They skim through or speed read blog posts. Pictures will capture their attention and help to reel them back in so they don’t miss any information.
You can optimize your images in a number of ways.
Here’s a list of the tools I use:
- Canva: Great for creating blog posts, Pinterest graphics, Facebook posts, covers, backgrounds, and more! It’s FREE to use (upgraded services available)!
Rhonna Designs: Rhonna is great for photo editing. I use their iPad app, any time I’m writing posts on my tablet. Free, user-friendly and they make updates all the time, so you won’t get bored of their tools. (Note: for personal use only)
- Gimp: Gimp is a user-friendly version of PhotoShop. I’ve never used PhotoShop but I’ve heard from friends, fellow bloggers, and businessowners that it takes a while to learn it well and they’ve taken classes for it. I ain’t got time for that, haha. It’s true though. I want easy and fast. Gimp will give you that. I use Gimp to set image sizes (in pixels), photo cropping, and more.
TIP#2: BREAK UP YOUR TEXT
You want to make sure there is adequate white space in your post. Line breaks and multiple spaces are your friends. Remember, your post should be EASY TO READ! This tip is an easy one but can get overlooked sometimes.
Don’t miss this one!
